 nce.  For hundreds of years\, Christians did not fight wars\; and yet\, jus
 t war theory is grounded in Augustinian practice.  And even now\, there is 
 a huge divide between those who think Christians can support torture (evang
 elicals) and oppose (mainline protestants).\n\nWhere do you stand?  do you 
 think religion causes violence?  How so?  How are human beings wired toward
  violence?  And what should religious people say about torture?  \n\nAt thi
 s meeting we will discuss other times (perhaps the second Sunday at 4:00pm?
