** note location change Brazen Fox - upstairs in the back.... Perhaps it will be quieter. We'll try the service, even though there are fewer beers. First, the beer. We often order something holy or unholy, made by monks. If we agree, we can get a pitcher. There is plenty of good food you can enjoy. Individuals may introduce themselves and share their religious background. This doesn't take long, and we often offer condolences, as well as support. Shared laughter is possible. We may begin by talking about "what is organized religion." Given the nature of my desk, it's definitely not in my church. Then we'll complain a bit. Perhaps we'll exchange ideas. I will not severely manage the topic. It might move all over the place. At the very least, we'll have honest engagement with spirituality and faith over a beer, usually made by monks. RSVP! Then you have a seat at the table. But we've gotten a couple no-shows in the past, so we'll probably squeeze you in.

This week I suggest the broad topic of faith and the presidential election. Do you think faith should be important in politics? Does it matter to you? How does your faith affect your vote, if you do vote? Or are you praying for it all to end quickly? I will not severely manage the topic. It might move all over the place. We had a good group last time. We talked a lot about hell. We also talked about being part of a church "family." But the topics can go anywhere, but here you'll find honest engagement with spirituality and faith over a beer, usually made by monks. RSVP! Then you have a seat at the table.

Amazing - We'll have Bill McGarvey, editor of Busted Halo, Father Matthew Moretz of Fr. Matthew Presents, The Rev. Astrid Storm and possibly John Spaulding, editor of SOMA review. Its a high powered meeting of the most important spirtual writers, bloggers and videobloggers around. This is a can't miss event! If you are someone who uses the internet for spirituality, this will be a promising opportunity to meet some contemporary thinkers in the Christian tradition.
